Hi, from DC, went to college in midwest, fell in love with it, never wanted to leave, but got stuck in the backwards south. Recently had housefire, so seems like a good time to get out .
I might freeze to death in MN, but still think I'd like to give it a try. Need someone to help me know what is involved, like heating Bill's, snow on roofs, kind of house to buy and where, how to keep a car from freezing, how to lick a lamppost without tongue sticking (joking) and what about dogs going out in the cold, what can you grow flower-wise, and what about black flies... so much to learn.

My background is in science, which I loved, but also have worked in social justice, and enjoy being around artsy, creative people (have heard Minneapolis is a great arts town).

I like to camp, hike, travel, sew, read (mostly non-fiction), garden (that might be all I miss about the south) , Bluegrass, Beatles, Bach and your almost native won Leo Kottke, DIY things.. I am never bored.
