Hello, my name is Blake. I am 36 and I have a big heart and soul. I am a chemist with biotechnology and photonics background. I also have a background in water and waste management too. I care about the environment and nature too and I am concerned about the climate.
I have an Instructables blog which has 10,500 views and 68 favorites so far. I am really into science and technology. I do laser shows and work with Optics a lot of the time and get necessary supplies when needed. I have made Perfumes too (from ethanol) and distilling different herbs and spices.
On Instructables, the Perfume make got in total 1400 views in 3 years and people contacted me on how to make it more efficient. The most views were Plating Silver, Gold, Tin, Chrome, Nickel, Cobalt salts onto Steel or Copper. That one got 2150 views and 20 favorites!
I also have done projects with HIGH VOLTAGE, 12,000 volts 35 ma AC and other flyback circuits and tried to build a Nitrogen laser. However, the power supply was too difficult to convert into 12 kV, 30 mA into 7500 volts 5 ma. It was too difficult. :( Extreme caution since one shock can kill!
I have tested clovers on EMF from 12 kV and 8 kV it got around 227 views but I did one project on How Radioactive sources (Thorium rods, etc, Uranium glass, And Americium 241) affect clover growth. Samples are mildly radioactive i measure them with a Radiation meter (GC).
That one got 1100 views and I have received 5 rewards (4 featured, and One gold medal for 1000 comments). I do a lot of things Outside the box.
Instructables is how to do things and share with the science community. I have done projects like bacteria that can kill insects and leave animals and humans alone and used friendly Mold as a Herbicide. Sadly it failed :(.
I gave back to the community by feeding the homeless for 4 years. I understand and have that kind of compassion.
