I was raised in a super religious household (my background is Jewish Yemenite) but when I was a teenager I started questioning religion and rebelled against everything I was raised with.Being here in Japan (this was my ultimate rebellious act, an interfaith, interracial marriage in the other side of the world) far apart from major Jewish communities (apart from a very small community who mostly gathers for holidays only at the Chabad in Tokyo, there’s nothing else Jewish here) made me want to reconnect identity back!
I REALLY miss getting snail mail in this email/social media/ text message world and I’d love to connect with a Jewish person either in Israel or anywhere else!
