Mzuzu Pen Pals - New Friends in Malawi

I am a news reporter working at a remote local government authority in Northern part of Malawi. I write news covering many areas but my main focus this time is to expose the women and girls who are vulnerable to hunger, poverty and human right abuse. Many may wish to know that I live in a society where women and girls rights are abused at will by men who capitalise on retrogressive cultural practices. Women are denied to take up leadership roles. They are pushed to the kitcheen as their main domain. The only disticnt role they play is to bear children without limits. Girls are forced to drop out of school and are paraded to marriages at tender ages of 14 to 16 years, for dowry wealth (cattle) to support household economy. I am therefore looking for a pen pal who can understand my interests and assisting me in achieving this ambition .

My ambition is to acquire more skills in communication and journalism so that I become a more effective communicator who can articulate issues of women and girls vulnerability for the attention of authorities in my country and the World at large.
