Mzuzu Pen Pals - New Friends in Malawi

I am working as a reporter in a rural local government authority in remote Northern part of Malawi, in Africa. I write news stories in areas of development, good governance,democracy, decentralisation human rights, disastes and culture among many others. My interest is to write news stories that can expose women and girls who are vulnerable to poverty, hunger and rights abuses so that service providers such as government, donors and other people of good will can alliviate their plight. Let people knoe I work in an impoverished society where women and a girl child are abused at will by men counterparts. Women can not take up decission making positions. They are pushed to the kitcheen as their main domain. Their distinct role in to bear children without limit, starting at tender ages of 14 or 15 years. Girls are forced to drop out of school and forced to marry for dowry wealth (cattle)
My ambition is to acquire more skills in communication and journalism so that I become a more effective communicator who can articulate issues of women and girls vulnerability for the attention of authorities in my country and the World at large.
